The incident that occurred in Izmir caused horror. It was learned that the individual, who had psychological problems, went out to the balcony with a pump-action shotgun. The person, who shouted and fired around for minutes, eventually committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. On the other hand, it drew attention that curious neighborhood residents did not want to leave their homes' windows, balconies, and terraces in order to take pictures and videos despite all the warnings from the police teams.
The incident occurred in a building in Bahar neighborhood during noon. Allegedly, Enes Kartal, a 26-year-old with psychological problems, fired shots around with a pump-action shotgun he had in his hand. Upon the notification, Police Special Operations, Karabağlar District Police Department teams, and numerous police officers along with 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the address.
Kartal, who was sitting on the balcony with his mother and sister and occasionally shouting around, sent his mother and sister inside after a while. Kartal, who was left alone on the balcony, shot himself in the head with the shotgun he had in his hand.
The cries of his mother and sister, who went out to the balcony upon hearing the gunshot and saw Enes Kartal covered in blood, broke hearts. After the examinations carried out by the 112 Emergency Health teams who entered the apartment, it was determined that Kartal had lost his life. After the examinations by the prosecutor and the crime scene investigation teams, Kartal's lifeless body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
Meanwhile, despite the warnings of the police teams, curious neighborhood residents did not want to leave their homes' windows, balconies, and terraces in order to take pictures and videos. Some neighborhood residents who witnessed Kartal's suicide were overwhelmed with tears.
