In Siirt, Gülhan Börülce, a mother of two, was stabbed to death in her home. The neighbor couple, Ş.K. and F.K., who were taken into custody in connection with the incident, were arrested by the court. It was learned that Ş.K. confessed to committing the murder due to his addiction to illegal gambling.
A mother of two was stabbed to death in her home in Siirt, and among the four suspects taken into custody, a married couple who were neighbors have been arrested.
On December 17, in the Barış neighborhood of Siirt, 39-year-old Gülhan Börülce was found stabbed in her home. As part of the investigation launched regarding the incident, the neighbors Ş.K. (32) and his wife F.K. (29) were referred to the courthouse among the four suspects taken into custody. After their procedures at the prosecutor's office, the couple was arrested; the other two suspects were released.
CONFESSED TO THE MURDER: "MY ADDICTION BROUGHT ME TO THIS POINT"
In his statement at the police station, Ş.K. said that his addiction to illegal gambling drove him to commit the murder. Stating that he decided to commit a crime due to his debts and addiction, Ş.K. said, "I had seen Gülhan Börülce's gold several times before the incident. I had been planning to kill her for about a month."
WHAT HAPPENED ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT
Ş.K. recounted that on the morning of December 17, he went to Börülce's house, knocked on the door, started to choke her, and stabbed her in the abdomen with a knife he took from the kitchen. After putting the bracelets in his pocket, he left the house and cleaned his gloves and clothes, stating that he took some of the gold to a jeweler to exchange for money to pay off his debts.
While checking Börülce, he noticed that she seemed to have a pulse, so he performed CPR, and when the 112 Emergency Health teams arrived, he stopped the intervention. He then conveyed his condolences to the woman's husband and received the death certificate.
7 STOLEN BRACELETS FOUND
Following Ş.K.'s confession, a search was conducted at the crime scene, and the seven stolen bracelets were found and added to the investigation file. His wife F.K. denied the accusations and requested to be tried without detention.
Börülce's funeral was held in Ankara. The incident caused a significant public outcry as a mother of two was murdered by her neighbor in Siirt.
