The father of Airplane Maintenance Non-Commissioned Officer Chief Sergeant Berkay Karaca, who was martyred when a military cargo plane crashed on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, shared his son's last words. Karaca expressed that his son loved his profession, saying, "My son told his mother, 'Mom, I will be a martyr, and you will say 'may the homeland be blessed,' you will stand strong and upright.' May the homeland be blessed."
A military cargo plane of the Turkish Armed Forces, type C-130, took off from Azerbaijan to Turkey and crashed at the Georgia-Azerbaijan border. In the accident, 20 military personnel were martyred.

"I BOUGHT YOU TEA BECAUSE YOU LOVE TEA" Karaca stated that he spoke with his son over the phone a day before the accident. He expressed that his son mentioned he had bought a gift from Azerbaijan for them, saying, "He was teasing me, 'Dad, I bought you tea because you love tea,' my dear. 'A group went, and then we will come,' he said, my child could not come." Karaca, who is also a retired soldier, emphasized that his son followed in his footsteps and became a military personnel.
"I WILL BE A MARTYR, AND YOU WILL SAY 'LONG LIVE THE HOMELAND'" Karaca noted that his son loved his profession and recorded the following: "My child loved his profession very much. He served for 8 years. This year he was due for a transfer. He said, 'I will return, I will request a transfer, I will come close to you, I will come to Bandırma.' He could not come, my son. Instead of my son's wedding, I am holding his funeral. My son told his mother, 'Mom, I will be a martyr, and you will say 'long live the homeland,' you will stand firm, you will stand tall.' Long live the homeland."
