A phone brought in for repair in Hatay exploded like a bomb and caught fire. The calm demeanor of the technician prevented the shop from being engulfed in flames. The technician said, "I put the battery to heat and forgot it for 5 minutes, then it exploded. Such incidents happen to me twice a year. I was scared at the moment of the first explosion, but then I got used to it."
In the Harapası neighborhood of Antakya district in Hatay, terrifying moments occurred at the workplace in Balıçılar Bazaar. While dealing with his work at the phone shop, Muhammed Ramazan İbrahim's mobile phone, which he had placed in a phone heater, exploded and caught fire.
TERRIFYING MOMENTS CAUGHT ON CAMERA
Noticing that the phone had caught fire due to the battery explosion, İbrahim reflexively pulled back and escaped from being burned. The panic experienced by the citizens in the workplace and the moment of the explosion were captured by the security camera. İbrahim's calm reflex in the first intervention to the exploding phone prevented the flames from engulfing the workplace.
"IT EXPLODED AFTER I FORGOT IT FOR 5 MINUTES"
Expressing that the battery of the mobile phone he forgot in the phone heater for 5 minutes exploded, Muhammed Ramazan İbrahim said, "We do phone repairs here. A phone came in that needed to be repaired. I put the battery in the heater and forgot it for 5 minutes, and then it exploded. In the camera footage, I took the phone and threw it on the ground."
"I WASN'T SCARED BECAUSE I'M USED TO IT"
Stating that he is accustomed to such explosions, Muhammed Ramazan İbrahim said, "I wasn't scared of the explosion because I'm used to it. It has happened to me many times in my 5 years as a phone repairman, and that's why I'm used to it. When a phone is placed in the heater, it explodes because the phone is already hot. Thank God nothing happened to me, and only the phone burned. I repaired the burned phone as well. The last time it happened to me was 5 months ago while I was in Istanbul. Such incidents happen to me twice a year. I was scared at the moment of the first explosion, but then I got used to it," he said.
