The tenth judicial package has been presented to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The 13th article in the package includes new regulations regarding measures to be taken against road blocking actions in traffic. Under these regulations, severe penalties will be imposed on drivers who engage in road blocking actions.

The long-awaited "Draft Law on the Execution of Penalties and Security Measures and Amendments to Certain Laws" has been presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). The proposal includes a separate article regarding traffic fines.

TRAFFIC FINES ARE INCREASING

The new penalties, aimed at preventing irregularities in traffic and possible accidents, are included in Article 13. In the 30-article tenth judicial package presented to the TBMM, the following statements were included in the article related to traffic: With the amendment made to Article 179 of Law No. 5237, the penalty for the crime of endangering traffic safety is being increased. In particular, penalties for those driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs have been intensified, with the aim of increasing deterrence.
