A Turkish citizen wishing to go to the USA, which reduced the visa quota for applications made from Turkey in 2017, will be able to obtain a visa at the earliest in 2027.
The United States suspended new visa applications from Turkish citizens indefinitely in 2017, citing diplomatic issues with Turkey. Very limited quotas have been allocated for the visa applications that have been reactivated.
THE U.S. CONTINUES TO MAKE THE NEW APPLICATION PROCESSES MORE DIFFICULT
In the first phase, the U.S. administration restricted visa durations while also continuing to complicate new application processes. Most recently, Washington postponed the appointment dates for B1-B2 visas, which include tourism, family visits, or participation in academic conferences from Turkey, to the year 2027.
THOSE APPLYING TODAY WILL BE ABLE TO GO IN 2027 AT THE EARLIEST
Turkish citizens entering the official website of the U.S. Consulate saw that the earliest appointment available was in December 2026. Considering processing times and passport delivery processes, a Turkish citizen wishing to travel to the U.S. and currently without a visa will be able to enter the country at the earliest in 2027.
