A citizen who realized his dream in Kastamonu designed a robot that can walk and carry people on its back. Those who see the citizen walking on the street with the robot show great interest.
Osman Demircioğlu, who has been working as a production operator for 15 years in a factory in Kastamonu, designed a robot that can carry humans using scrap materials. Using the engine of a scrap motorcycle, the wheels of another motorcycle, and materials he collected from scrap, Osman Demircioğlu created a robot that can walk and carry a person on the wheeled part behind it after approximately 4 years of work.
HE NAMED IT ATAMAN666
Citizens who see the robot, which Osman Demircioğlu named "Ataman 666," on the street are surprised. Demircioğlu stated that he made the robot because he wanted to create a different design and expressed his desire to continue with his projects.
COMPLETED IN 4 YEARS
Demircioğlu stated that he started the design of the robot by drawing, saying, "I designed this robot to attract children's interest. I had previously made a toy version of it, and I developed it to carry a person. First, I drew it on paper and calculated the walking formula. I obtained materials from scrap. I used the engine of a scrap motorcycle and the wheels of another motorcycle. I made the drawings, designed it, and made it walk. It took about 4 years to complete," he said.
"THE ENTIRE DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY BELONG TO ME"
Demircioğlu stated that he made the robot because his goal was to design something different, saying, "I have been interested in machines since childhood. I wanted to make something different. I was also doing these things as a hobby, and that's how I started. People showed interest as well. I explained as much as I could. During the construction phase, I received great support from my wife and children. I also received support from the industry. Overall, the entire design and assembly belong to me," he said.
"THEY ARE CURIOUS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A THING"
Demircioğlu noted that everyone showed great interest in the robot he made and called on young people, saying, "The cost is approximately between 15,000 and 20,000. My goal is to make an electric carriage that is not available in Kastamonu. This attracts great interest from children. They are curious because they have never seen such a thing in their lives. I want to continue with my projects from now on. I want to make an electric carriage first. My advice to young people is to engage with real life without getting too caught up in social media," he said.
