Two members of the ISIS terrorist organization preparing for a bomb attack in Istanbul were captured. It was learned that the suspects were trying to make a bomb in the house they were staying in, and as a result, small explosion sounds were sometimes heard from the house. QUESTION THAT LED TO THE ARREST OF THE TERRORISTSThe Istanbul Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch received information that the ISIS armed terrorist organization was preparing for a bomb attack in Istanbul. Following this, the teams launched a large-scale operation related to the matter. A social media user with the alias Bekir El Kürdi caught the attention of the TEM teams when he asked on some platforms, 'How to place a bomb inside a pressure cooker?' The teams determined that Bekir El Kürdi was actually Diyar Kılıç. They also identified that Kılıç was acting together with someone named Erdal Sarıok and that they were living in Gaziosmanpaşa. Additionally, it was found that Erdal Sarıok had numerous criminal records for various offenses. OPERATION AT THE HOUSEAfter their investigations, the teams conducted an operation at the house where the suspects were staying. Both suspects were captured and taken into custody during the operation. The searches yielded high-sensitivity explosives such as TATP, a large quantity of chemical substances used in bomb making, laboratory materials, camouflage materials, laboratory clothing and masks, the so-called flags of the ISIS armed terrorist organization, various banned publications, and digital materials. REQUESTED CHEMISTRY BOOKS IN PRISONOn the other hand, according to information obtained from the suspects' relatives, explosion sounds were heard from the house they were staying in from time to time. It was learned that Diyar Kılıç requested chemistry-related books from his family while in prison, and after being released, he posed in black clothing and a mask, taking these photos as a rehearsal for poses he would take after the attack. After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested by the court.
