Artificial intelligence Chat GPT answered the question "What is the least livable district in Turkey?" with the response that it is the Yüreğir district of Adana. This answer received backlash from both citizens and the Mayor of Yüreğir, Ali Demirçalı. Demirçalı stated, "What is Chat GPT's problem with Yüreğir? Let them come, and we will solve it."
Yüreğir district of Adana is once again on the agenda of artificial intelligence. Previously, the AI selected the 19 Mayıs neighborhood in Yüreğir as "Turkey's most dangerous neighborhood," and this time, with a new assessment, it has chosen Yüreğir as the most unlivable district in Turkey. While these results have infuriated the citizens of the district, Yüreğir Mayor Ali Demirçalı reacted to the situation.
"CHAT GPT IS FIXATED ON YÜREĞİR"
Mayor Demirçalı stated that artificial intelligence has a problem with Yüreğir, saying, "Chat GPT is fixated on Yüreğir. Yüreğir is the heart of Adana. Adana shapes with Yüreğir, and no street in Yüreğir is unsafe. If you declare a district unsafe and unlivable, housing prices and rental prices in that district will drop. People will not shop in the district's restaurants and cafes," he said.
"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH YÜREĞİR?"
Reacting to Chat GPT's response about Yüreğir, Demirçalı said, "I am addressing the administrators of Chat GPT from here. What is your problem with Yüreğir? Let them come, without any protection, at any hour of the day, and let’s walk and shop in any street or avenue of Yüreğir. They will see the solidarity and hospitality in Yüreğir. You get what you give to artificial intelligence," he expressed.
"ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO YÜREĞİR"
Pointing out that there are many artists and businessmen raised in Yüreğir, Demirçalı stated, "We have many famous artists, poets, historians, and businessmen in Turkey. Artificial intelligence should apologize to Yüreğir. It apologized once; it should apologize again. The people of Yüreğir are reacting to this situation," he said.
"DON'T COMMENT WITHOUT SEEING"
Mert Yılmaz, a resident of Yüreğir, said, "I think they have said something very silly. This is the neighborhood where I was born and raised. Nothing happens as long as there are no people involved. I don’t even smoke. They shouldn’t comment without coming and seeing; they should come and see Yüreğir, see the neighborhoods," he stated.
"IT IS WRONG TO GENERALIZE A PART OF SOCIETY"
Ahmet Yüksel, a neighborhood resident, also shared his thoughts, saying, "There are bad people everywhere, but there is no problem here. If the laws were truly deterrent, there wouldn’t be so many incidents today. Artificial intelligence has gone off the rails. It is wrong to generalize a part of society," he explained.
"WE DO NOT TRUST ANYONE EXCEPT GOD"
Young people living in the 19 Mayıs and Başak neighborhoods of Yüreğir reacted to the situation, saying, "We do not trust anyone except God. We do not know artificial intelligence; anyone who believes in artificial intelligence believes in everything. They should come and see our neighborhood," they said.
