The trial regarding the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş will continue today. A total of 22 defendants, including 12 who are in custody, are being tried at the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court. Speaking about the expert report before the hearing, Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş, stated, "Sinan was killed by the hired assassin Eray. This is clearly visible in the footage. It is also mentioned in the initial expert reports. They did not accept this report because it did not suit their interests."
The trial regarding the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President and Hacettepe University Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Ateş will continue today. The case will be heard at the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court, where a total of 22 defendants, including 12 in custody, are being tried. Due to the hearing starting at 09:30, intense security measures have been taken around the prison. Traffic police and riot police are on duty on the roads leading to the prison, while many police vehicles, water cannons, and riot police are on standby in front of the prison. In addition to the prison area, many police, gendarmerie, and prison staff are taking precautions in the courtroom where the hearing is being held.
The hearing, expected to continue throughout the week, will involve the main defenses regarding the case. In the last hearing in July, defendants Mehmet Yüce, Erdem Karadeniz, Osman Bayraktar, Zekeriya Asarkaya, Hakan Saraç, Ufuk Köktürk, Aytaç Ataç, Caner Günay, Umut Ersoy, and Alper Atay were released.
AYŞE ATEŞ'S STRIKING WORDS BEFORE THE HEARING
Ayşe Ateş, the wife of Sinan Ateş, made statements before the hearing. Ateş said the following regarding the hearing; "My expectation from these hearings is that all of the defendants currently on trial receive the punishment they deserve and are tried fairly. However, no matter what happens, the outcome of this court will not satisfy us. Because there is a separate case file involving 17 people, including instigators and political connections. There are also things we do not know outside of this file. The indictment of that file needs to be written, and the individuals there, as well as the criminals, need to be tried fairly. Only when they are tried and receive the punishment they deserve will we find peace."
"ERAY KILLED SINAN"
Ateş commented on the recent expert report regarding the murder of Sinan Ateş, saying, "The first expert report was also in this direction. That is, Eray killed Sinan. The hired killer Eray killed him. This is clearly seen in the cameras. It is also in the first expert reports written. They did not accept this report because it did not suit their interests. But even if they write one report or a thousand reports, and gather different experts, it will be the same. They cannot change the truth," he said.
