The bomber Michael Lindström, responsible for the deaths of 10 people in Sweden, was captured in Bodrum by Gendarmerie teams during an operation. Weapons and ammunition were seized at the house where Lindström was hiding, and a person named Serhat Muhammet Budak was also arrested for aiding and abetting.
Michael Lindström, who has an international arrest warrant for the crimes of "Possession of firearms and explosives" that resulted in the deaths of 10 people in Sweden, was captured in Bodrum.
ARRIVED IN ISTANBUL ON JANUARY 7
The main suspect in the actions that caused the deaths of 10 people with a grenade and a firearm in Sweden, Lindström, who also engaged in a conflict with long-barreled weapons in Spain, was found to have arrived at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport from Morocco on January 7.
OPERATION INITIATED ON JANUARY 17
It was determined that Lindström later landed at Milas-Bodrum Airport on a domestic flight. The suspect, who was under surveillance, was found to be hiding in a house in Tilkicik Bay, Bodrum. Under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the Bodrum District Gendarmerie Command teams initiated the operation on January 17.
ARRESTED
During the searches conducted at the house where Lindström was hiding, 2 pistol magazines, 10 bullets, 9 knives, 1 baton, and 2 air rifles were seized. Lindström, who was taken into custody, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the gendarmerie. The court arrested the suspect and sent him to prison.
ASSISTANT ALSO ARRESTED
20-year-old Serhat Muhammet Budak, a Swedish citizen of Turkish descent, was also arrested by the gendarmerie teams for aiding and abetting.
