In the tragic incident that took place in Ataşehir, Istanbul, 43-year-old Filiz Sercan lost her life after being trapped under a construction machine at a recycling center. The unfortunate woman's 6 children are now struggling to survive under difficult conditions.

SHE LOST HER LIFE IN THE ACCIDENT AT HER DAILY JOB

The incident occurred on May 28th at a recycling center in Ferhatpaşa neighborhood. Filiz Sercan, a 43-year-old mother of 6, was working at the recycling center on a daily wage basis. Sercan went to work at the recycling center on the morning of May 28th. Allegedly, Muhammer T., the son of the owner of the workplace, did not see Filiz Sercan while maneuvering the construction machine in reverse. Filiz Sercan got trapped under the machine.

6 CHILDREN, 2 OF WHOM ARE DISABLED, ARE LIVING IN A SHACK

Despite the efforts of the medical teams, Sercan could not be saved and lost her life. After Filiz Sercan's death, her 6 children were evicted from their home because they couldn't pay the rent. With the help of their relatives, who are also struggling, a shack was built for the 6 siblings. A total of 6 children, 2 of whom are disabled, are fighting for survival in the shack.

SUSPECT WHO WAS ARRESTED WAS RELEASED

Muhammer T., who is responsible for Filiz Sercan's death, was arrested after the incident. It was learned that Muhammer T. was released to be tried without detention after a while.

Bahar Sercan, the daughter of Filiz Sercan who lost her life in the work accident, said, "I was also working there with my mother. The excavator came backwards and hit my mother, trapping her underneath. Then the police, prosecutor, and medical teams arrived. The incident happened at 8:30 in the morning. The person who hit my mother is now outside. We couldn't pay the rent because we don't have the means, so the landlord had to evict us. I was left on the street with my 6 siblings. I want justice to be served."

"HE WAS RELEASED WITHOUT A TRIAL OR HEARING"

Emre E., the nephew of the deceased woman, said, "She goes to work in the morning. She has a work accident, and my aunt gets crushed by the excavator operator who was reversing. My aunt died there. That person was arrested. After being arrested, he was released on the eve of the holiday. 6 children were left behind. The children are staying with us, they are the victims. Relatives and friends are helping. We want whatever is necessary to be done. The other party did not help these children in any way. These children are victims. One of them is physically disabled and the other one is visually impaired. These children are currently staying here, they are of school age. The neighbors allowed it. We built a shack-like place with our own means. We provide them with food and drink, but how long can we continue like this... These children need care. Their mother died, their future is gone. We don't understand, the person was detained for 10 days after the accident. He was released. Someone died there, and he was released without a trial or hearing. He walked away freely. These children became victims."

"THESE CHILDREN HAVE NO ONE"

Sevgi E., the sister of the deceased woman, said, "6 children are living in a coal shed. This used to be a coal shed, we emptied it. These children are currently in a desperate situation. We can only do so much. Their situation is bad, they have needs. My sister, who was only 43 years old, was buried. Her children were left in a desperate state. It's a very painful situation. The landlord never came and asked about the condition of these children. He tried to save his own son. My sister died, but she left behind 6 children. We don't have the power to do anything. A 43-year-old young woman was crushed and he walks around freely. We can't go to anyone and tell them about our situation. These children currently have no one but us. If we have something, we give it to them and they eat, if we don't, they go hungry. We ask for help from the authorities."
