The candidate squad for our national team’s UEFA Nations League play-off matches against Hungary has been announced. Among the names called up to the national team for the first time are Taha Şahin from Çaykur Rizespor, Yusuf Akçiçek from Fenerbahçe, and Demir Ege Tıknaz from Rio Ave. The matches will take place on March 20 and 23.

8 PLAYERS MISSING
In the squad of 30 players for the National Team, Altay Bayındır, Çağlar Söyüncü, Doğan Alemdar, Enes Ünal, Ferdi Kadıoğlu, Ozan Kabak, Yusuf Yazıcı, and Zeki Çelik are absent due to injuries.
3 PLAYERS CALLED UP FOR THE FIRST TIME
Defenders Yusuf Akçiçek and Taha Şahin, along with midfielder Demir Ege Tıknaz, have been called up to the National Team for the first time, while Salih Özcan and Can Uzun have been recalled to the squad after the camp in September. Oğuz Aydın, who is in the expanded squad for the 2024 European Championship, also returns to the team, while Emre Mor has been called up to the National Team again after a break of about two and a half years.
ARDA AND MERİH SUSPENDED
From the squad, Arda Güler and Merih Demiral will not be able to play in the Turkey - Hungary match on March 20 due to yellow card suspensions. İrfan Can Kahveci, Kerem Aktürkoğlu, Mert Müldür, and Orkun Kökçü are also on the brink of suspension before the first match.
The players called up to the National Team will gather at the TFF's Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities in Riva on Monday, March 17, at 12:00. The Crescent-Stars will hold their first training session on the same day at 17:00 and will continue their preparations for the Hungary match at this facility throughout the week.
Our National Team's head coach Vincenzo Montella and one of our national players will hold a press conference at the Turkey Football Federation's center in Riva on Wednesday, March 19, at 13:45. The National Team will also conduct their official training before the Hungary match at this facility at 17:00 on the same day.
The Turkey - Hungary match, hosted by Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Rams Park, will kick off on Thursday, March 20, at 20:00.
The National Team will conduct their last training session before the return match on Saturday, March 22, at 11:15 at the TFF Hasan Doğan National Teams Camp and Training Facilities; they will then fly to Budapest, Hungary, at 16:00 on a Turkish Airlines (THY) flight.
After arriving in Budapest, the Crescent-Stars will take a short walk at the Puskás Arena, where the match will be played, at 17:00 (TSI 19:00). Our National Team's head coach Vincenzo Montella and one of the players from the squad will hold a press conference at the stadium at 17:15 (TSI 19:15).
The Hungary - Turkey match, which will be played at the Puskás Arena on Sunday, March 23, will start at 18:00 (TSI 20:00). Both matches that our National Team will play against Hungary will be broadcast live on TV8 and Exxen platforms.
