Former Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya's advisor Ergün Yolcu responded to allegations of "leaking information from the ministry" with a statement on his social media account. Yolcu claimed that the accusations were slander and announced that he would seek legal remedies.
"I HAVE SERVED MY STATE LOYALLY FOR 32 YEARS"
Yolcu, who stated that he resigned from his advisory position after Yerlikaya was dismissed, claimed that he has been targeted by the public and "some political circles." He expressed that he has been subjected to accusations of leaking information to journalists in Ankara, stating that the allegations are not based on any documents or concrete evidence.
Emphasizing that he has served the state loyally for 32 years, Yolcu noted that during his tenure at the Ministry of Interior, he tried to communicate the services carried out under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and during Ali Yerlikaya's term effectively and accurately to the public.
"ALL OF IT IS A LOW SLANDER"
Yolcu, who works with a principled journalism approach as a communication professor and advisor, argued that there is no source, document, or concrete evidence in the news about him. Describing the allegations as "a low slander" and "baseless," Yolcu stated that he would use all his legal rights against this initiative that targets the seriousness of the state and his personal honor.
Referring to the month of Ramadan, Yolcu indicated that the accusations against him infringe on the rights of others and called on the public not to trust information from unverified sources.
At the end of his statement, Yolcu included the 11th verse of Surah An-Nur, expressing that he does not forgive those who made accusations against him.
