In the Merdivenköy neighborhood of Kadıköy, thieves climbed into homes through open windows and stole electronic devices and jewelry worth millions of lira. Following the efforts of the teams, a 26-year-old suspect with 104 criminal records and a 31-year-old suspect who was found to have a confirmed prison sentence were arrested and sent to prison.
On September 26, thieves entered a house in the Merdivenköy neighborhood of Kadıköy district in Istanbul, stealing electronic goods, cash, jewelry, and the ignition key of a parked car they found.
THEY CLIMBED IN THROUGH THE WINDOW
In the investigation initiated by the police regarding the incident, it was determined that the thieves climbed the building from the outside like acrobats and then entered through an open window. Security camera footage showed that the suspects who committed the theft later escaped from the same place.
MILLIONS OF LIRA IN THEFT
While the police continued the investigation related to the incident, the suspects reappeared on October 2, entering a house on Hoşgörü Street in the Merdivenköy neighborhood using the same method. The thieves stole a safe containing 750 grams of gold, a handgun, and a sum of foreign currency from the bedroom.
26 YEARS OLD WITH 104 CRIMINAL RECORDS
In the investigation conducted by the Theft Bureau, the police identified the suspects by tracking the security camera footage. The suspects, H.Y. (26) and D.C.K. (31), were taken into custody. It was revealed that H.Y. had 104 previous criminal records and was wanted in 18 separate cases. It was also learned that H.Y. had a confirmed prison sentence of 8 years and 25 days for previous crimes. The other suspect, D.C.K., was noted to have 16 previous criminal records.
THEY WERE ARRESTED
After their procedures, the suspects were arrested and sent to prison.
