President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the details of the long-awaited "good news" statement to the public. Erdoğan reminded that they will carry out very important works throughout the year to protect the family institution in coordination with the relevant ministries. "INTEREST-FREE LOAN FOR YOUNG COUPLES"Stating that "we are implementing many projects within the scope of the year 2025 as the family year," Erdoğan used the following expressions: During the period from May 14 to 28, we had initiated the fund we promised to our nation last year in the earthquake-affected regions. With this fund, we are offering interest-free loan support of 150,000 lira for young people taking their first step into marriage, with a repayment period of 48 months and 2 years of grace period. We are implementing the interest-free loan support we provide to young couples across all 81 provinces within the scope of the fund. Now, all our young people in 81 provinces will be able to benefit from the fund. As of today, they can submit their applications. "WE REITERATE OUR CALL FOR 3 CHILDREN"Stating that "our fertility rate and population growth rate are alarming," Erdoğan continued: While our fertility rate was 2.38 in 2001, today this figure has dropped to 1.51. Our annual population growth rate has decreased to 1.1 per thousand in 2023. While our child and youth population is decreasing, our elderly population has exceeded 10% for the first time in our history. Turkey is losing its young and qualified population. If we do not take the necessary measures and implement policies, the problem will reach an irreparable level. We sensed this danger 20 years ago. In 2007, we made a call for at least 3 children to draw attention to the decline in fertility and population growth rates. The efforts carried out under the guise of population planning carry malicious intent. I believe that time will confirm this. We reiterate our call for at least 3 children.
