Turkish Airlines (THY) boarding procedures will now be conducted using a facial recognition system. The project was first tested on THY flights at Miami and Boston airports in the USA, and the system will soon be implemented in Istanbul, Izmir, and Seoul. Taking significant steps in digitalization, THY has launched an important project to speed up boarding processes by 50%. As part of the project, boarding procedures that were previously done manually before boarding will now be carried out using a facial recognition system. The system was first tested on THY flights at Miami and Boston airports in the USA and was successful. In statements regarding the matter, THY Deputy General Manager Kerem Kızıltunç said, "Turkish Airlines, which continues to climb the ladder of leadership in digitalization, is starting a biometric journey. Our project, which started in Miami and Boston, provides the opportunity to speed up boarding times by up to 50%. We plan to implement contactless boarding processes in Seoul, Izmir, and Istanbul soon, followed by new stations and new capabilities."
