U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders stated that he is "absolutely" opposed to the additional budget of $200 billion requested by the Trump administration to finance attacks on Iran, and announced that they will present a joint rejection decision for the weapons planned to be sent to Israel. Arguing that the U.S. and Israel initiated the war, Sanders emphasized that the American people do not support such a war, drawing attention to the heavy humanitarian costs in the Middle East.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders stated that he would "absolutely" not support the $200 billion supplemental budget request to finance attacks on Iran.

In an interview with CNN, Sanders responded to a question about whether he would support the $200 billion budget request proposed by the Donald Trump administration to finance attacks on Iran.

Saying that he would "absolutely" not support this, Sanders added, "In fact, we will present a joint rejection decision that will stop the 20,000 bombs and bulldozers to be sent to Israel within a few weeks."

"THE WAR WAS INITIATED BY THE U.S.-ISRAEL"

Sanders pointed out that the U.S. "initiated this war" together with Israel and warned that the attacks would cost "hundreds of billions of dollars," causing great suffering in the Middle East.

"NOT A WAR OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE"

Emphasizing that many Americans are struggling with basic expenses such as housing, healthcare, and food, Sanders stated that this is not a "war" that the American people want, whether they are Republican or Democrat.

Regarding U.S.-Israel relations, Sanders said, "When it comes to whether we want to work with Israel, which is devastating the people of Gaza, I am not so sure that the 10% of the people of Gaza who have died or been injured are the allies we should be working with."

U.S.-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN

On February 28, Israel and the U.S. launched a military attack on Iran while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations.

Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where U.S. bases are located, in addition to Israel.

In the U.S.-Israel attacks, former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, as well as many high-ranking officials, were killed.
