Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Down At Tuesday's Close

BIST 100 index down 3.85 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,434.43 points on Tuesday, down 0.27% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 1,440.67 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 3.85 points from Monday's close of 1,438.28 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 1,428.96 points, while its daily high was 1,443.50 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was almost 1.09 trillion Turkish liras ($129 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of around 12.8 billion Turkish liras ($1.52 billion).

A total of 13 stocks on the index rose, 43 fell, and 44 remained unchanged compared to Monday's close.

The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, energy giant Tupras, and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines.

Shares of automotive company Dogus Otomotiv performed the best, up 5.89%, while stocks of electricity company Esenboga dropped the most, falling 2.87%.

One ounce of gold traded for $1.789,85 by market close, up from $1.789 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $73.62 per barrel with a 0.15% gain as of 6: 48 p.m. local time (1548GMT).
