Turkish Stocks On High Note At Midweek Opening

BIST 100 index up 3.1 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,411.90 points on Wednesday, rising 0.22% or 3.09 points from the previous close.

At Tuesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.65% to 1,402.26 points, with a daily trading volume of more than 9.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.16 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 8.4000 as of 9: 30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, down from 8.4385 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 9.9700 from 10.0197, while one British pound traded for 11.7320 Turkish liras, versus 11.7272 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil was sold for $72.40 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
