Turkish Stocks Start Week Down

BIST 100 index loses 6.29 points at opening session.

Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week at 2,004.87 points on Monday, falling 6.29 points, or 0.31%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index went down by 0.15% on Friday to close the week at 2,011.16 points, with a daily trading volume of 30.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 13.4285 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.3970 at the previous close.

The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 15.2040 from 15.2050, while a British pound traded for 18.1863 liras, up from 18.1820.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $87.65 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time . -
