The month of Ramadan, the sultan of eleven months, is just a few days away. The Syrian Cabinet has reduced working hours in public institutions to 6 hours during the month of Ramadan. In Iraq, the working hours have been shortened by one hour.

As Ramadan approaches, working hours for civil servants in some Islamic countries have been rearranged due to iftar times.

According to the decision made by the Syrian Cabinet, working hours in public institutions will be implemented between 08:00 and 14:00 during the month of Ramadan.

In line with the decision, public employees will work 6 hours a day throughout Ramadan.

In the pre-civil war period, working hours during Ramadan were arranged between 09:00 and 15:00.

SHIFT SYSTEM IN HEALTH AND EDUCATION

A shift working system will be applied in sectors that require continuous service, such as health and education.

The number of shifts in a day and the shift change times will be determined by the relevant institutions according to the nature and intensity of the service.

THE START OF RAMADAN WILL BE CONFIRMED BY MOON SIGHTING

The exact start date of Ramadan in Syria has not yet been announced.

Traditionally, a moon sighting is conducted in desert areas a few days before the estimated start date in the country. After the crescent is sighted, the start of Ramadan is announced to the public through the mufti's office and the media.

WORKING HOURS IN IRAQ REDUCED BY 1 HOUR

The General Secretariat of the Iraqi Cabinet also issued a directive to shorten official working hours by one hour during the month of Ramadan.

In the written statement, it was reported that the regulation covers all ministries, independent institutions, and governorships across the country.

It was noted that institutions were given discretion on whether to apply the one-hour reduction at the beginning or the end of the working hours.
