In the "Anatolian Heritage" operation conducted by gendarmerie teams in Kırıkkale, a tombstone valued at approximately 5 million lira from the Roman period was seized. One side of the tombstone features a human figure, while the other side depicts an animal figure.

With the instruction of the Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted an operation against the smuggling of historical artifacts in the Sulakyurt district. In the operation carried out within the scope of "Anatolian Heritage," a tombstone from the Roman period was seized at the home of suspects S.G. and M.C.K.

VALUE OF 5 MILLION LIRA

According to the examination conducted by experts from the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, the artifact is made of limestone and its approximate value is determined to be 5 million lira. The two suspects taken into custody during the operation were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the gendarmerie. The suspects were released under judicial control by the court they were brought before. The seized historical tombstone has been placed under protection at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations.

The figures on the tombstone also drew attention. One side features a figure of a horse walking forward along with a wheel motif, while the other side depicts a human representation in a hollow.
