Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl, who resigned from CHP and joined AK Party, received the harshest reaction from his former party from Canan Kaftancıoğlu. Reminding that Bingöl was the district chair during her tenure as provincial chair, Kaftancıoğlu published a scathing statement on her social media account and apologized to party members, saying, 'For my own part, I ask for forgiveness.'
Former CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Canan Kaftancıoğlu reacted to Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl, who joined the AK Party. In a harsh post on her social media account, Kaftancıoğlu targeted Bingöl.
While Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl's transition to the AK Party remains a hot topic on the political agenda, very harsh reactions continue to come from the CHP front. Canan Kaftancıoğlu, who was serving as the CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair when Bingöl was elected as the Tuzla District Chair in 2019 at just 26 years old, one of Istanbul's youngest district chairs, broke her silence.
"THE REAL PROBLEM WAS THAT THESE PEOPLE COULD FIND A PLACE IN THE PARTY"
Publishing a vitriolic statement on her social media account, Kaftancıoğlu emphasized merit within the party and used the following expressions:
"While there are countless meritorious people in CHP organizations; the real problem was that these individuals, who lack ideology, thought, and even morality entirely, could find a place in a social democratic party. It doesn't matter how they found it at this hour..."
"FORGIVE ME, AS FAR AS MY SHARE IS CONCERNED"
Recalling that Bingöl was a district chair during her own provincial chairmanship and apologizing, Kaftancıoğlu continued her reaction with these words:
"Although I had no involvement in his candidacy process, unfortunately there is also a characterless person in this frame who served as a district chair during my term! I am very sorry, and forgive me, as far as my share is concerned..."
