In the Boumerdes province in northern Algeria, 25 people lost their lives and 44 were injured in an accident caused by a passenger bus rolling down an embankment.
According to a statement from the Algerian Civil Protection General Directorate, the accident occurred in the morning hours in the province of Boumerdes, located approximately 55 kilometers east of the capital, Algiers.
25 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
A passenger bus traveling from the city of Setif in the east of the country lost control and overturned into a ditch on National Road Number 24 near the village of El Karma. In the accident, 25 people lost their lives and 44 people were injured.
It was reported that upon the notification, 3 search and rescue vehicles and 11 ambulances were dispatched to the scene. It was stated that teams were continuing evacuation efforts in the area and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals by health workers.
