Customs Enforcement teams seized 233 smuggled vehicles with a market value of 280 million 533 thousand lira during operations conducted in the first quarter of 2026. Of the vehicles caught at border gates and ports, 104 were cars, 48 were trucks, 56 were various types of vehicles, and 25 were construction machinery. The ministry announced that the fight against smuggling will continue with determination.
The Ministry of Trade's Customs Enforcement teams uncovered a large smuggling network in operations conducted in the first quarter of 2026. During the inspections, 233 smuggled vehicles with a market value of 280 million 533 thousand lira were seized.
As part of the fight against smuggling, numerous vehicles attempting to be illegally brought into Turkey were detected during inspections carried out at border gates and ports. It was reported that 104 of the seized vehicles were cars, 48 were trucks, 56 were various types of vehicles, and 25 were construction machinery.
STRICT INSPECTIONS AT BORDER GATES AND PORTS
During the controls carried out by customs teams, especially at border gates and ports, vehicles attempted to be smuggled into the country using different methods were caught one by one. The total market value of the seized vehicles was reported to be approximately 280 million 533 thousand lira.
FIGHT AGAINST SMUGGLING CONTINUES
In a statement from the Ministry of Trade, it was emphasized that the fight against smuggling is being carried out decisively to ensure economic security and protect legal trade. The statement indicated that such operations will continue uninterrupted.
