In the case of Özge Bedir, who was killed in a fight over a forbidden relationship in Burdur, the prosecution has requested aggravated life sentences for the three detained suspects in the indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office. It was determined that Tülay A., who killed her friend's boyfriend's wife, changed out of her bloody clothes after the murder on the day of the incident and into costume outfits used for her drama class.
In the case of Özge Bedir, who was killed in a forbidden relationship fight in Burdur, the prosecution has requested aggravated life sentences for the three detained defendants in the indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office.
The incident occurred on June 10 in the central Bağlar neighborhood of Burdur around 21:00. 22-year-old Tülay A. went to the house of 35-year-old Adnan B., with whom she was allegedly in a previous romantic relationship, along with her friend Seray Ö. (25). Unlike Seray Ö., who waited in front of the site, Tülay A. went into the apartment to meet Adnan B.'s wife, Özge Bedir (35).
KILLED IN A FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIP FIGHT
The argument that started at the door quickly escalated into a fight. According to allegations, Tülay A. fled the scene after stabbing Bedir in the throat and abdomen during the scuffle. When the police, health, and fire teams arrived at the scene following a 112 call made by Seray Ö., they found Özge Bedir in a pool of blood in the corridor of the house when they opened the door. Health teams determined that Bedir had lost her life. Bedir's body was taken to the Burdur State Hospital morgue for autopsy.
PENALTIES REQUESTED FOR THE DEFENDANTS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED
An indictment was prepared by the prosecutor's office regarding the stabbing murder of Özge Bedir, a mother of two. In the indictment, it was requested that defendant Tülay A. be tried for "premeditated murder" under Article 82/1 of the Turkish Penal Code, "violation of the inviolability of the dwelling" under Article 116 of the TCK, and "carrying and using knives or other tools without permission" under Law No. 6136. The prosecution requested an aggravated life sentence for these crimes. For defendant Seray Ö., an aggravated life sentence was requested for "participation in premeditated murder" under Article 82 of the Turkish Penal Code. It was noted in the indictment that the husband of the victim, Adnan B., was also requested to be punished with an aggravated life sentence for "aiding and abetting premeditated murder" under Article 82 of the Turkish Penal Code.
"I HAVE BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH ADNAN B. FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS"
Suspect Seray Ö. stated in her defense that she had been in a relationship with Adnan B. for about 3 years, claiming that she did not know he was married in the early stages, and ended their relationship after learning the situation, but they resumed their relationship when Adnan B. said he would divorce his wife. Seray Ö. mentioned that after realizing Adnan B. had not told his wife about their relationship, she called Özge Bedir to inform her of the situation and later sent photos of them together via WhatsApp.
"ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT, ADNAN B. SAID HIS WIFE WAS HOME ALONE"
Seray Ö. stated that on the night of June 10, 2025, Adnan B. came to Tülay A.'s house and insulted her again, and left the house in the morning. She noted that on the same day, she received a notification that Özge B. had withdrawn her complaint regarding the lawsuit she had filed, and that Adnan B. called her around 17:00 on the day of the incident. Seray Ö. reported that during this conversation, Adnan B. said he had left the house with his daughter and that his wife was home alone, and from this conversation, she received a message from Adnan B. directing her to meet with Özge Bedir.
"TÜLAY A. WENT TO MEET, I WAITED ON THE STREET"
Suspect Seray Ö. stated in her testimony that Tülay A. told her, "Don't come, so there won't be any problems," indicating that she wanted to meet with Özge Bedir. She said they walked to the site around 18:00, and she waited in a street two blocks down from the site while Tülay A. went to Özge Bedir's house. She waited for about 15-20 minutes for Tülay A. to return, during which she chatted on the phone with a friend named Ö. She mentioned that when Tülay A. returned, her hands were in her bag, and she told her, "Shut up and walk." She recounted that they walked for about 40 minutes without stopping, and that Tülay A. had to remove her shirt and skirt because they were bloody, and blood dripped onto the ground.
"I HAD COSTUME CLOTHES IN MY BAG"
Suspect Tülay A., who is a friend of Seray Ö., stated that she had a black bag with her on the day of the incident, which contained costume clothes she used in drama class, sunglasses, blood pressure medication, a wallet, keys, gloves, packing tape, and a black mask. She mentioned that while walking with Seray Ö., they frequently had phone conversations with Adnan B., which she described as normal. Tülay A. recounted that during one of these conversations, Adnan B. said he had left the house with his daughter and that his wife Özge Bedir was home alone. She expressed that they decided to go to Özge Bedir's house to talk after looking at the address on the notification, and that she asked Seray Ö. to wait at a point where she could see the entrance of the site. When she went to Özge Bedir's house, she introduced herself and said she wanted to talk at the door, but Özge Bedir invited her inside.
"I WAS ATTACKED WITH A KNIFE"
Tülay A. stated that after entering the house, she heard the door being locked, and that Özge Bedir came to her with a knife-like object from the kitchen. She said she wanted to leave the house, but Özge Bedir continued to insult her. At that moment, she claimed that Özge Bedir pressed her wrists against the wall and cut her fingertips, leaving her hands covered in blood. She described that a struggle ensued between them, during which the knife briefly ended up in her hand, but then returned to Özge Bedir's hand, and she realized the door was locked and that she was thrown to the ground. She noted that during the struggle, she saw that Özge Bedir's throat was also bleeding.
"I ACTED TO PROTECT MYSELF"
In her defense, Tülay A. stated that she did not go to Özge Bedir's house with the intention of causing harm, that she did not have any knife or sharp object with her, and that she acted to protect herself due to Özge Bedir's attack. She claimed that Adnan B.'s constant provocative and inciting words brought her and Seray Ö. face to face, and expressed that she was a complainant against Adnan B. Suspect Adnan B. stated in his defense that the content of his previous statement given at the police station was correct and that he repeated his statement exactly.
"SERAY WILL BE MY GIRLFRIEND"
Adnan B. stated that he had been in a romantic relationship with Seray Ö. for about 1.5 years, and that they met while working at Güvendik Pastry Shop. He mentioned that his wife did not know about this relationship for a year, and that it came to light after Seray Ö. sent photos to his wife via phone. Adnan B. noted that after his wife learned about the relationship, she left him, and they were apart for about 10 days, but later reconciled and started living together again.
Adnan B. stated that after reconciling with his wife, he cut off communication with Seray Ö., yet Seray Ö. has been trying to reach him through hidden numbers and different lines, and at times, she has even had his cousin check on him.
