The reality show "Kısmetse Olur," which was penalized by the RTÜK for content that undermines women's dignity, has become a topic of discussion on social media after a couple was seen getting closer as if there were no cameras.
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed an administrative monetary fine and a penalty of removal from the catalog on the digital platform where the competition program titled "The Power of Love" was broadcast, due to the presence of content that undermines women's honor.
REASON FOR THE DECISION: WOMEN PRESENTED AS OBJECTS
In RTÜK's decision, it was stated that women were used as objects or commodities in a physical, emotional, or psychological sense, presented in a way that undermines their honor, their emotional states were exploited for ratings or attention, and they were reduced to the status of "prize" or "reason" in the competition among men.
ACTING AS IF THERE WERE NO CAMERAS
While the repercussions of RTÜK's decision continue, another video shared from the competition sparked discussion on social media. The footage showed a couple in the program getting closer as if there were no cameras, quickly becoming a trending topic.
COMMENTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA WERE DIVIDED
After the spread of the footage, different comments were made among social media users. Some users criticized the airing of such scenes, while others argued that the program format inherently included such content.
