Famous actress Eda Ece gave a statement as part of the investigation conducted against the Ahbap Association. During her statement, the famous actress cried and apologized. Ece, who was also questioned about the words she used in her award speech, said about this matter, "I overstepped my bounds."
The statement of Eda Ece Tuncer, who was summoned for testimony within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Ahbap Association, has emerged.
Eda Ece said that actress Şevval Sam warned them against Haluk Levent and that, as the TV series team, they completely excluded Ahbap. It was noted that Ece apologized while crying during her testimony at the prosecutor's office.
ŞEVVAL SAM WARNED THEM
Eda Ece Tuncer explained that they were on the set of the TV series "Yasak Elma" during the February 6 earthquakes and wanted to help the earthquake victims as a team. Stating that her co-star Şevval Sam firmly warned them about Haluk Levent, Eda Ece reported that Sam said Haluk Levent could not be trusted due to his past.
Eda Ece, who stated that she had never met Haluk Levent before and did not even have his phone number, said she had no contact with Levent during or after the earthquake.
"WE IGNORED THE ASSOCIATION"
Eda Ece explained that as the series team, they sent the toys, clothes, and other supplies they collected to the earthquake region with their own means. The actress, who stated that they visited earthquake victims in hospitals and at the Darülaceze, said they did not go to these visits with any association and did not invite the press.
Following her statement that "Şevval Sam protected us from Haluk Levent's bad intentions," Eda Ece stated that, like many celebrities, they could have directed their aid motivation to Ahbap, but they did not do so.
The actress said, "As a set, we ignored Ahbap so much that we didn't even question where it was positioned." Eda Ece, who said she had no information about whether Ahbap was promoted as a rival to state institutions, noted that a perception may have formed in the public that it was a rival to the Red Crescent (Kızılay) and AFAD.
TEARFUL APOLOGY FOR THOSE WORDS
Eda Ece was also asked about her words used at the ELLE Style Awards ceremony held in June 2023, which meant "They thought others were doing what was done in the earthquake region; that's what we understood from the ballot box."
Stating that her words were taken out of the context of her speech, Eda Ece admitted that she wanted to end her emotional speech with a joke but overstepped her bounds. The actress, whose crying during the testimony was recorded in the minutes, said that the earthquake victims being offended by her was her biggest regret.
Eda Ece, stating that she had apologized many times for her words, said, "If only there were a time machine and I could take back what I said." The actress, who emphasized that she never provided any aid to Ahbap or Haluk Levent, said she thanked them for summoning her for testimony and that she had wanted to explain herself for a long time.
