In food safety inspections conducted in Switzerland, boron was detected above the legally permitted limit in two different mineral waters of the Kızılay brand. Accordingly, a recall decision was made for the products, while authorities called on consumers not to use the mineral waters and to return them. Previously, some mineral waters of the Beypazarı and Sırma brands had also been collected in Switzerland for the same reason.

A recall decision was made in Switzerland after high levels of boron were detected in two different mineral waters belonging to the Red Cross brand during food safety inspections. Official authorities announced that the products in question would be collected from the market, while calling on consumers not to consume the products and to return them.

REASON: HIGH BORON LEVEL

Swiss authorities stated that the recall decision was made within the scope of the country's current food legislation. It was noted that during inspections, boron levels exceeding the limits allowed by legislation were detected in two Red Cross mineral water products, and therefore it was decided to withdraw the products from sale.

THE SAME DECISION WAS ALSO MADE FOR TWO BRANDS PREVIOUSLY

Swiss authorities had previously recalled some mineral waters of the Beypazarı and Sırma brands exported from Turkey for the same reason. A collection decision was also applied to those products on the grounds that boron levels exceeded the legal limits set by Switzerland.

THE DECISION WAS MADE ACCORDING TO SWISS LEGISLATION

Authorities stated that the recall decision was made based on the limit values in Switzerland's food safety legislation and only covers the relevant products. Consumers who purchased the products were advised not to consume the mineral waters and to return them.
