APOLOGIZED TO THE VICTIMS' FAMILIES
According to information obtained from officials, Walls apologized to the victims' families in his last statement before the execution. Walls stated, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to say what’s in my heart. If there are any family members here, I apologize for everything I did and for the pain I caused you over the years." It was reported that the inmate's last meal included chicken, steak, vegetables, baked potatoes, cheesecake, and fruit juice.
MURDERED YOUNG COUPLE IN THEIR SLEEP
Frank Athen Walls was sentenced to death for murdering 22-year-old soldier Edward Alger and his girlfriend Ann Peterson, who were stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, in July 1987. During the investigation, it was determined that Walls entered the couple's home at night, bound both of them in their sleep, killed them, and took their money.

Walls was arrested the day after the couple's bodies were found naked. Police reached the suspect after being tipped off by his roommate due to Walls' suspicious behavior, and it was stated that this development was effective in bringing the murders to an end.
RAPED A MOTHER OF 4 CHILDREN
It was also noted that Walls confessed to other murders he committed previously. According to this, Walls killed mother of four Audrey Gygi after a sexual assault in May 1987, cut the throat of 19-year-old Tommie Lou Widdon in March 1985, and stabbed 24-year-old Cynthia Sue Condra 21 times in September 1986, leading to her death.
