In Bursa, Özlem Bodur, a member of the Osmangazi Municipality Council, was attacked following a traffic dispute over yielding. According to reports, a driver, angered by not being given way, followed Bodur and attacked her vehicle. The incident was captured on camera, and the suspect, who was taken into custody, was arrested by the court to which he was brought.
While driving on Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard in Bursa, Özlem Bodur, a member of the Osmangazi Municipality Council, encountered the reaction of an unknown driver due to a right-of-way issue. Allegedly, the suspect driver squeezed Bodur in traffic and made obscene hand gestures as a result.
SMASHED THE MIRROR, THREATENED AND INSULTED
Due to being squeezed, Bodur was forced to stop, during which she was attacked by a person who got out of the vehicle, identified as A.G. The suspect first broke the vehicle's mirror, then punched the car and fled the scene. Those moments were captured on camera, and it was claimed that the suspect threatened, saying, "We will meet, I will kill you."
FILED A COMPLAINT
After the incident, Özlem Bodur, a member of the Osmangazi Municipality Council, reported to the police station, stating that there was no material damage but that she had been subjected to insults and threats, and she filed a complaint. In the investigation, it was determined that the owner of the vehicle in question was A.G.
SENT TO JAIL
It was learned that the suspect A.G. admitted to some of the charges during his statement. Following the instructions of the public prosecutor, the suspect A.G. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court and sent to jail.
SUPPORT MESSAGES FROM MPs
Meanwhile, after the incident, support messages came to Özlem Bodur from AK Party and MHP members of parliament and council members. The MPs emphasized that violence in traffic is unacceptable and stated that the process would be closely monitored.
