In Adana, a 19-year-old suspect who opened fire on his enemies killed an innocent civilian passing by at the time; the detained suspect was arrested by the court he was brought before.
In the Yüreğir district of Adana, 19-year-old Hasan Efe G., who opened fire with a pistol on his adversaries after an argument, hit 39-year-old Selahattin Onmaz, who was passing by at the time. While Onmaz, seriously injured, lost his life in the hospital, the apprehended suspect was arrested by the court he was brought before.
GUNSHOT DURING ARGUMENT
The incident occurred on the evening of July 28 at around 20:30 in the Yavuzlar Neighborhood of the Yüreğir district. According to the claim, 19-year-old Hasan Efe G. started an argument with his adversaries H.Y. and B.Y., whom he encountered on the road. As the argument quickly escalated, Hasan Efe G. opened fire toward his adversaries with the pistol on his waist. The bullets from the gun struck 39-year-old Selahattin Onmaz, who was passing by at that moment.
FLED THE SCENE QUICKLY
While Selahattin Onmaz collapsed to the ground covered in blood, the armed attacker Hasan Efe G. quickly fled the scene and disappeared. Upon the notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Selahattin Onmaz, taken to the hospital with serious injuries, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.
"THE BULLETS HIT BY MISTAKE, I AM SORRY"
Teams from the Homicide Bureau Office affiliated with the Public Order Branch Directorate apprehended Hasan Efe G. shortly after as a result of the investigations, taking him into custody. In his interrogation at the police station, it was learned that the suspect admitted his crime, saying, "When I saw my adversaries, I opened fire with the pistol. The bullets hit another person by mistake. I am sorry."
HEAVY SECURITY MEASURES FOR HEALTH CHECK
After the procedures at the police station were completed, Hasan Efe G. was brought to the health check at the Forensic Medicine Unit in an armored vehicle. It was observed that riot police took extensive security measures around the area. After the health check, the suspect, referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
