OPERATION AT MARMARIS MUNICIPALITY
In the investigation coordinated by the Marmaris Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, allegations were examined that some personnel working at the Marmaris Municipality engaged in irregularities in the new housing and licensing processes of hotels, restaurants, and businesses, obtaining financial benefits. It was also claimed that some managers within the municipality directed transactions through personnel they selected themselves to gain profit. As part of the ongoing investigation, a staff member working in the Zoning Department was caught red-handed by the police while receiving a bribe of 4,000 dollars during the night. Simultaneous search warrants were issued for the homes, workplaces, and offices of the suspects at the Marmaris Municipality.
DEPUTY MAYOR ALSO DETAINED
Deputy Mayor Ö.H., Zoning Director İ.P., engineers V.Ç., T.D., and C.C., Deputy Chief of the Municipal Police M.K., tradesman T.K., muhtar F.T., contractor M.G., accountant F.K., freelance professional M.Ş., and municipal employees N.C. and H.P. were detained. During the searches at the homes and workplaces of the suspects, a large amount of cash and foreign currency was seized.
