THE REFEREE OF THE MATCH WAS STABBED
Emre Kaya, the assistant referee planned to officiate the Altay-Eskişehirspor match, was attacked with a knife and injured in the leg while leaving the hotel where he was staying before the match. The incident occurred around 02:00 today in Alsancak Neighborhood, 1467th Street, Konak district. Emre Kaya (27), who was scheduled to officiate the Altay-Eskişehirspor match at Alsancak Mustafa Denizli Stadium this evening in the 3rd League 4th Group, was stabbed in the left calf during a dispute that arose for an unknown reason.
HEALTH CONDITION IS GOOD
While the attacker fled the scene, Kaya went to Alsancak State Hospital on his own. Kaya, who was lightly injured, was discharged after treatment. In his verbal statement, assistant referee Emre Kaya reportedly said that he did not know the attacker and that he was attacked after the assailant said, 'Why are you looking?' The police have launched an investigation to determine the identity of the attacker and to apprehend them. The police investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
STATEMENT FROM MHK
Meanwhile, the Central Refereeing Committee (MHK) appointed Alişan Küçükkocak, one of the referees from the Muğla region, as the assistant referee for the match in place of Emre Kaya. In the official statement from MHK, it was stated: "Due to the health problem experienced by Emre Kaya, the 2nd assistant referee for the Nesine 3rd League 4th Group match between Altay and Eskişehirspor, which will be played on 28.09.2025, has been appointed as Alişan Küçükkocak."
