The French athlete won the first set 29-25, while the second set ended in a 28-28 tie. Thomas Chirault also won the third set 27-26, taking a 5-1 lead. Mete Gazoz, who didn't give up, won the fourth and fifth sets with scores of 29-28, equalizing the score to 5-5. In the final shot after the tie, Mete Gazoz scored a 10, while his opponent scored a 9. The national athlete came back from a 5-1 deficit, winning the match 6-5 and securing a spot in the quarter-finals.
