Severe clashes are taking place between the state army of Syria and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the rural areas of Aleppo province. THEY HAVE ADVANCED TO WITHIN 8 KILOMETERS OF ALEPPOIn the clashes that began early in the morning, armed groups affiliated with HTS captured Akil Hill, El Ragib Hill, Kuptan Mountain, Debbabat Hill, the town of Ancara, 46th Brigade, and the villages of Kefer Besme, Basartun, Hur, Elkasimiyye, Acil, Bele, Sellum, Kefer Bissin, Sheikh Akil, Hırderkal, Acemi, Ürumsugra, and Uveycil in the western rural area of Aleppo. Armed groups affiliated with HTS have reached as close as 8 kilometers to the city center of Aleppo. Thus, the area that HTS has taken control of today has reached an area of 138 square kilometers. While the clashes continue, the Syrian state army has targeted civilian settlements with ground-to-ground weapons. CIVILIANS ARE FLEEING TO IDLIB RURAL AREASAs the clashes continue, many civilians fleeing the fighting in the region are seeking refuge in the rural areas of Idlib.
