Striking images of Mujtaba Khamenei, who is claimed to have been seriously injured in the attacks organized by the US-Israel, have been shared.
A MAP OF THE DIMONA NUCLEAR FACILITY WAS INCLUDED
The images reflected in the Iranian media show moments when Khamenei entered the military operations room. Senior Iranian military officials in the room all stand up together when Khamenei enters. A large visual of the Dimona nuclear reactor site in Israel, along with its coordinates, was seen on the digital screen in the room.
On March 20, Israel struck Iran's Natanz nuclear facility with an airstrike, and Iran retaliated by targeting Israel's Dimona nuclear facility with missiles. A missile fell in the area where the facility is located, but it was not announced whether there was any damage to the facility.
IT WAS CLAIMED THAT HE WAS IN INTENSIVE CARE
Meanwhile, this sharing came after the Israeli-based Yedioth Ahronoth claimed that Iran's religious leader Mujtaba Khamenei was being held in an underground intensive care unit.
WHY IS THE DIMONA NUCLEAR FACILITY IMPORTANT?
The Dimona Nuclear Facility is located in Israel's Negev Desert, near the city of Dimona, and is believed to be the center of the country's nuclear weapons program. Although it was officially established for research and desalination purposes, some circles claim that the facility has the capacity to develop nuclear weapons.
Construction of the facility began in 1958 with the support of France, and it operates a heavy water reactor (IRR-2) that is closed to international inspection. Due to Israel's "nuclear ambiguity" policy, the details and nuclear capacity of the facility are not officially disclosed, making Dimona a strategically critical target. Especially in the context of Iran-Israel tensions, it is emphasized that the facility stands out as Israel's "nuclear heart" in the event of a potential retaliation and is exposed to security threats.
