TRAINING PLANE CRASHED, PILOT LOST HIS LIFE
The accident occurred on September 3 at around 09:00 in the Kırbaş neighborhood of Torbalı. The Cessna-172 type aircraft belonging to the Turkish Aeronautical Association took off from Selçuk Efes Airport for training at around 08:30 and crashed into a cornfield for unknown reasons shortly after. Upon notification, fire, gendarmerie, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. It was determined that the pilot candidate Berfu Hatipoğlu had lost his life under the control of the medical teams.
HER BIGGEST DREAM WAS TO BE A PILOT
After the accident, it was learned that Berfu Hatipoğlu was working as a cabin chief at an airline and wanted to become a pilot, having been in training for this dream for 3 months.
DETAILED EXAMINATIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON THE WRECKAGE
The wreckage of the training plane was taken to Selçuk Efes Airport by crane after the investigation by the accident investigation team. It was stated that after the examination to be conducted there, the wreckage would be sent to the Transportation Safety Investigation Center Directorate in Ankara for detailed examination.
LOST ALTITUDE AND CRASHED INTO THE FIELD
According to initial determinations, it was found that the training plane lost altitude and crashed vertically into the cornfield. It was observed that the corn in the area where the plane crashed had been cut a few meters long.
