The number of detainees in the Gülistan Doku case has risen to 27.

In the 4th wave operation conducted in the Gülistan Doku case, the judicial process has come to an end with the arrest of 2 more people. While arrest warrants were issued for 12 of the 19 police officers detained in 15 provinces on suspicion of interfering with evidence and committing irregularities, the total number of detainees in the investigation overall has reached 27.

The judicial process has come to an end in the 4th wave operation of the Gülistan Doku investigation conducted by the Erzurum and Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices. Of the 19 suspects detained within the scope of the operation, 12 were arrested, bringing the total number of detainees in the case to 27.

Teams from the Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command carried out simultaneous operations at 21 addresses in 15 provinces: Nevşehir, Istanbul, Isparta, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Ordu, Aydın, Diyarbakır, Kayseri, Ankara, Erzincan, Eskişehir, İzmir, and Antalya.

As a result of technical, digital, and field work conducted within the scope of the investigation; action was taken on the suspicion that some law enforcement personnel serving in Tunceli committed irregularities and interfered with evidence during the judicial process carried out following the disappearance of Gülistan Doku.

LEGAL ACTION AGAINST POLICE OFFICIALS

In the operation, 19 suspects, including senior police chiefs, were detained. The titles of the suspects against whom action was taken are as follows:

3 Retired Police Officers

JUDICIAL PROCESS COMPLETED IN STAGES

Following health checks at Erzurum City Hospital, the procedures for the 19 suspects brought to the Erzurum Courthouse were completed in stages. On the first day of the process, of the 8 suspects brought before the judge, 4 were arrested, 3 were released under judicial control, and 1 was released after giving a statement to the prosecutor.

On the second day, of the 6 suspects whose judicial procedures were completed, 5 were arrested by the court and sent to prison, while judicial control was imposed on 1 person. In the final stage of the process, of the remaining 4 suspects referred to the court, 2 more were arrested, and 2 were released under judicial control.

With the final decisions, 12 of the 19 suspects detained within the scope of the fourth wave operation were arrested. Along with the procedures of 1 suspect whose interrogation at the prosecutor's office is ongoing, the total number of detainees in the major investigation has risen to 27.
