According to a survey conducted by ORC Research from September 2 to 6, 2025, 77.3% of retirees found the government's policies towards retirees inadequate, while 75.5% reported experiencing financial difficulties. In terms of political preferences, 34.2% of retirees preferred the CHP, while 29.1% preferred the AK Party.
While the political agenda in Turkey is rapidly changing, new survey results that gauge the pulse of retirees have been shared with the public. The survey conducted by ORC Research between September 2-6, 2025, in 26 cities, involved face-to-face interviews with 1,750 retirees over the age of 45, revealing retirees' economic difficulties and political preferences.
THE MAJORITY OF RETIREES...
In response to the question, "How adequate do you find the policies regarding retirees?" only 22.7% of retirees answered "Adequate," while 77.3% found the government's policies "Inadequate."
75.5% FACING LIVING DIFFICULTIES
One of the most striking results of the survey pertains to the economic situation. 75.5% of retirees expressed that they are experiencing difficulties in making ends meet. It was observed that retirement salaries alone are not sufficient, and the need for additional income has increased.
CHP BECAME THE LEADING PARTY
In response to the question, "If there were elections this Sunday, which party would you vote for?" 34.2% of retirees stated they would vote for CHP. The percentage of those who said they would vote for the AK Party remained at 29.1%. It is noteworthy that CHP, which previously received high support from young voters, has also gained prominence among retirees.
