A person who was arrested on the charge of causing the death of Abdullah Coşkun, with whom he had a fight in traffic in the Keşap district of Giresun, defended himself in the prosecutor's office by saying, "Abdullah Coşkun was the first to hit me. We had a scuffle, and he suddenly fell to the ground. The claim that I hit him is not true. I raised my hands to defend myself." Meanwhile, new footage of the incident has emerged.
In Giresun's Keşap district, new footage has emerged along with the statement of İlhan İhtiyaroğlu (38), who was arrested on the grounds that he caused the death of retired primary school teacher Abdullah Coşkun (68) during a fight that broke out between drivers after a traffic accident. İhtiyaroğlu stated in his testimony, "When the argument broke out, Abdullah Coşkun was the first to hit me. We had a scuffle, and he suddenly fell to the ground. His breathing became difficult. I put my jacket under his head to help him breathe easier. The claim that I hit the other party is not true," it was learned.
RETIRED TEACHER DIED IN TRAFFIC FIGHT The accident occurred on November 16 at the Karakoç Junction on the Black Sea Coastal Road in the Fındıklı neighborhood of Keşap. The car with license plate 61 ADL 995, driven by İlhan İhtiyaroğlu, collided with the car with license plate 28 ADE 196, driven by retired primary school teacher Abdullah Coşkun. After the accident, which caused damage to the vehicles, a dispute broke out between the drivers. Allegedly, the argument escalated into a fistfight. Coşkun, who was injured from the blows he received during the fight, collapsed to the ground.

One week before the incident, Coşkun, who had overcome lung cancer after a three-year treatment by his doctor daughter Ayşe Coşkun Beyan, was buried in the Tirebolu district.
NEW FOOTAGE EMERGED New footage recorded on a mobile phone after the accident and the statement of suspect İlhan İhtiyaroğlu have emerged. The footage shows Abdullah Coşkun lying motionless on the ground next to his vehicle, covered in blood, while bystanders attempt to help.
"I RAISED MY HANDS TO DEFEND MYSELF" İhtiyaroğlu, who works as a private security officer at a hospital in the city, stated in his testimony, "I got out of the vehicle after the accident. When the argument broke out, Abdullah Coşkun was the first to hit me. We had a scuffle, and he suddenly fell to the ground. His breathing became difficult. I put my jacket under his head to help him breathe easier. I absolutely did not intend to kill anyone in this incident. I raised my hands to defend myself and protect myself. The claim that I hit the other party is not true. I do not accept the accusations," it was learned. The cause of Abdullah Coşkun's death, which saddened not only his family and relatives but also the district shortly after overcoming cancer treatment, will be clarified after the report prepared by the Trabzon Forensic Medicine Institution.

On the day of the incident, my client and his wife were in traffic due to the process of losing their baby. According to the traffic reports, Abdullah Coşkun suddenly entered the turning lane where my client's vehicle was located, in an attempt to overtake a truck, causing a very dangerous accident that could have had severe consequences due to his complete fault."
"ASSAULT IS PROVEN BY FORENSIC REPORTS" My client, with reflexes and a sudden maneuver, saved both his own vehicle and the other party from going under the truck in seconds. This reflex shows that the critical rescue was achieved through my client's attention and effort. During the accident, both parties experienced deep fear of going under the truck. In the midst of this deep fear, Abdullah Coşkun, with the prejudice that 'the one who hit from behind is at fault,' punched my client, causing my client's lip to burst.
Assault is proven by forensic reports. The assault in question occurred outside the view of Coşkun's wife. After my client was assaulted, he pushed the other party away with his hands and arms to avoid receiving a second blow. While the parties' spouses were trying to calm them down, a commotion occurred. However, there was no assault, and Mr. Abdullah Coşkun suddenly fell to the ground. The statement of the eyewitness that the police listened to at the time of the incident is clear; there was no violence other than a scuffle in the incident.
"MY CLIENT WAS THE FIRST TO INTERVENE" Lawyer Hicran Akkaya Şenol stated that the exact cause of death would be revealed by the forensic report: "The first person to intervene when Mr. Abdullah Coşkun fell to the ground was my client. Due to being a hospital employee, my client, who has first aid training, provided shock position to Coşkun to prevent his tongue from falling back and his airway from closing, turned his head to the side, took off his own clothes, and placed them under Coşkun's head, providing first aid. Despite losing their own child, my client and his wife respected the grief of the Coşkun family and did not make any accusatory statements against Abdullah Coşkun, despite the material evidence and reports.
"MY CLIENT PREVENTED A 3-VEHICLE ACCIDENT" My client prevented a 3-vehicle accident, including 1 truck and Mr. Abdullah Coşkun's vehicle. According to the traffic reports, my client bears no fault in the accident. The fault lies with Mr. Coşkun's vehicle. He did not stop at the accident scene, either consciously or unconsciously, and left the scene. My client has a split lip, and there are no signs of injury on his hands. Mr. Coşkun has signs of injury on his hand. Other than the injury on Mr. Abdullah Coşkun's head, which could be consistent with a fall, and the marks on his hand, there are no other signs of injury on his body.
