This announcement caused a significant reaction in Damascus, where Syrian Economy Minister Nidal al-Shar could not hold back his emotions and was brought to tears during a live broadcast.

Minister al-Shar expressed his gratitude to Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, which significantly contributed to the process due to the decision made. In his speech, Minister al-Shar also highlighted the role played by the Syrian people and diplomacy in this process, stating, "We are grateful to Qatar, the Republic of Turkey, the Syrian leadership, and our people. My deepest thanks also go to Mr. Donald Trump."
TRUMP EMPHASIZED "ERDOĞAN"
On the other hand, Trump recalled his discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his statement regarding the issue, announcing that they would lift the sanctions against Syria. Reminding that he spoke on the phone with Erdoğan, Trump said, "Turkey's leader Erdoğan made a similar request recently. My other esteemed friends in the Middle East also said this; we will lift the sanctions in Syria."
