Mustafa Aydın, who runs a grocery store in the Netherlands, has become a topic of discussion in the national press after calmly chasing an armed robber out of his store with a bottle.
Aydın, who runs Antalya Market with his partner in the city of Schiedam, recounted the robbery attempt he experienced.
HE ROBBED THE MARKET WITH A GUN
Aydın stated that the incident occurred last Monday evening, saying, "I was sitting calmly at the cash register and waiting for a customer. At that moment, a young boy with his face covered entered. He came directly to me and pulled out his gun, pointing it at me."

Emphasizing that he did not lose his courage and composure at that moment, Aydın said, "I reached for the gun, trying to take it away. Then I told him that I would empty the cash register and give it to him to distract him. While I was leaning over the cash register, I pressed the alarm button. At that moment, a customer came in, and the thief pointed the gun at him, asking him to go outside."
"I TRIED TO GRAB EVERYTHING AND CHASE HIM"
Aydın continued to distract the thief by saying that the cash register was out of money and that he would give the money from the other register, stating, "We moved to the other register, I handed over some money, and at that moment my courage increased, I raised my voice and shouted, and I started to chase the thief by closing the cash register. Upon this, the thief ran away. I also pursued him. I tried to grab whatever was there and chase him."

Aydın mentioned that the police arrived at the workplace about 10 minutes after the incident, that they handed over the security camera footage to the police, and that an investigation was initiated. The robbery attempt that Aydın thwarted by throwing a bottle received extensive coverage in the Dutch press, highlighting the composure and courage of Turkish tradesmen.
