The Presidency of Religious Affairs issued a warning in the Friday sermon published during the New Year week regarding alcohol consumption, the national lottery, and the decoration of streets and houses.

The Friday sermon of the General Directorate of Religious Services of the Presidency of Religious Affairs was published under the title "Our Identity is Our Future."

In the sermon, it was emphasized that every society has its own unique identity, and it was stated that nations "take their place in history with this identity" and create their "families, art, architecture, cities, and civilizations" with this identity.

The sermon noted that the Muslim identity is one of the fundamental elements that provide unity and solidarity, and it was recorded that the source of this identity is the Quran and the Sunnah.

"IDENTITYLESS GENERATIONS ARE BEING FORMED"

The sermon also addressed social corruption, stating that nations erased from the stage of history have "fallen under the influence of foreign cultures and have become alienated from their identities."

It was mentioned in the sermon that humanity is currently facing a moral corruption, stating, "The pure nature created is intended to be corrupted by entertainment carried out in a boundless manner. The perception is being produced that a person can only be happy to the extent that they spend their time and resources. Efforts are being made to create identityless generations that are foreign to their essence and culture."

"NO MATTER WHAT NAME IT HAS, GAMBLING SHOULD NOT BE PLAYED"

The sermon stated, "These days should not be days when we waste our lives with entertainments that are incompatible with our values and identity. These days should not be turned into an environment where symbols that have no place in our faith and culture adorn homes, workplaces, and streets. These days should not become a time period where alcohol, which harms our body and soul, is consumed. These days should not be transformed into a state where gambling, lottery, and games of chance, regardless of their name, are played without the sweat of labor and where no good can be done."
