THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED BETWEEN SUKHNAH AND PALMYRA

According to a breaking news report by Syrian state television Al-Ikhbariya, the tragic accident took place between the areas of Sukhnah and Palmyra on the Damascus-Deir ez-Zor route. Following the major collision involving two passenger buses, numerous ambulances and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.

FEARS OF RISING DEATH TOLL

In an official statement by the Syrian Ministry of Health, the grim toll of the accident was shared with the public. Initial assessments indicate 35 people died and 30 were injured.

Survivors rescued with injuries were given first aid at the scene and then quickly transferred to nearby hospitals for treatment. Due to the presence of critically injured individuals, authorities reported concerns that the death toll might rise.
