IT BECAME THE MOST FREQUENTLY USED ROUTE IN THE COUNTRY

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu made a written statement regarding the 12th anniversary of the Eskisehir-Istanbul YHT Line being put into service. Reminding that they started high-speed train transportation in Turkey with the Eskisehir-Ankara Line, which opened in 2009, Minister Uraloglu noted that with the Eskisehir-Istanbul Line, which began passenger transport on July 27, 2014, they ensured integration between Ankara and Istanbul. "After putting the Eskisehir-Istanbul line into service, we started operating Konya-Istanbul in the same year, Karaman-Istanbul in 2022, and Sivas-Istanbul YHT services on this route in 2024. Thus, the Eskisehir-Istanbul line transcended being just a line providing transportation between two cities and became the backbone of the high-speed train network extending from different cities to Istanbul. In this way, it became one of the most frequently used YHT routes in our country," he said.

DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDED TO 23 PERCENT OF THE POPULATION

Uraloglu stated that with the Eskisehir-Istanbul YHT line being put into service, they directly connected 5 provinces and a population of over 20 million to high-speed train comfort through the Bozuyuk, Bilecik, Pamukova, Arifiye, Izmit, Gebze, Pendik, Bostancı, and Sogutlucesme stations.

Stating that production, trade, and technology centers are connected via high-speed train lines, Uraloglu said, "The line connects Turkey's leading industrial, production, trade, and technology centers like Eskisehir, Bilecik, Sakarya, Kocaeli, and Istanbul via the high-speed train network. With the Eskisehir-Istanbul YHT Line alone, we provide direct high-speed train service to 23 percent of the country's population."
