New images have emerged in the controversy where CHP Istanbul Provincial Head Gürsel Tekin strongly denied claims that actors were brought to the membership ceremony for payment, saying "If I had a deal with a company, I would hang myself." A citizen who claimed to have attended the ceremony alleged that a casting agency offered them 1000 TL to be called to the event and that many people were brought to the venue in minibuses.
The allegations that extras were brought for a fee to the membership ceremony organized by the CHP Istanbul Provincial Directorate have stirred the agenda. In new footage taken at the ceremony, which was also attended by CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, a citizen speaking claimed that they were included in the organization through an agency and were offered payment for their participation.
KILIÇDAROĞLU HAD PINNED BADGES ON NEW MEMBERS
Following the mass membership ceremony held in Istanbul with the participation of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, it was alleged that part of the crowd at the ceremony venue was brought for a fee through casting agencies. The allegations claimed that participants would be paid 950 TL per person.
GÜRSEL TEKIN: IF I HAVE A DEAL WITH A COMPANY, I WILL HANG MYSELF
Following the allegations, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Gürsel Tekin issued a statement, flatly denying the news. Tekin, who made statements both on a television program he attended and on his social media account, argued that the allegations were completely unfounded.
Tekin, who claimed that they have been targeted for a long time, said, "It is not possible for us to accept such a thing. The dirty media has been lying for 10 months. If I have a deal with a company, I will hang myself," and described the news as "utterly false."
Tekin also stated that he had instructed his lawyers and announced that they would file a criminal complaint with the duty prosecutor's office against the media outlets that published the news in question.
CITIZEN SPOKE: THEY SAID 1000 TL IN CASH WOULD BE PAID
As the debates continued, a citizen who spoke to Sözcü TV in new footage that emerged made different allegations. Claiming that he was called two days in advance by agencies that provide extras for TV series and films, the citizen said, "They said there is a CHP meeting, if you attend, 1000 TL in cash will be paid. So we came. I have nothing to do with Kılıçdaroğlu."
ALLEGATION: "15-20 MINIBUSES FULL OF PEOPLE WERE BROUGHT"
The same person also claimed that the organization was carried out collectively, not individually. The citizen, who alleged that about 15-20 minibuses full of people were brought to the ceremony venue along with them, said they were told, "You will spend 4-5 hours, then you will receive your fee."
The CHP side, in its previous statements, had firmly rejected the allegations and argued that the news about participants being brought for a fee to the organization did not reflect the truth.
