The transfer of a 99.31 percent stake in Turkish Bank, a venerable Turkish bank with a 125-year history, to a US-based subsidiary of Freedom Holding Corp. has been completed. Following approvals from the BDDK and the Competition Authority, the bank's commercial title was changed to Freedom Bank Inc., and its management team was also reconstituted.
The transfer process at Turkish Bank, one of the established institutions of Turkey's banking sector, has been officially completed. The bank, whose roots date back to 1901, had 99.31 percent of its shares transferred to Freedom Capital Markets, a subsidiary of US-based Freedom Holding Corp. Following the transfer procedures, the bank will continue its operations under its new title.
ITS NAME BECAME "FREEDOM BANK"
Important decisions were made at the general assembly meeting held after the share transfer, which was completed as of July 31, 2026. The bank's commercial title was changed to Freedom Bank Inc., and an application was made to the Trade Registry for the registration of the new title.
MANAGEMENT TEAM RENEWED
At the general assembly, the bank's management team was also reshaped. Vladimir Pochekuev was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors, while Hikmet Cenk Eynehan was appointed as Board Member and General Manager.
BDDK AND COMPETITION AUTHORITY APPROVALS HAD BEEN OBTAINED
The approvals from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) and the Competition Authority, required for the sale transaction, were completed on July 1, 2026. After the completion of the legal process, US-based Freedom Holding Corp. entered the Turkish financial sector under the Freedom Bank brand.
