The Arbitration Board of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) reduced the 12-month suspension imposed on Fenerbahçe player Mert Hakan Yandaş due to a betting offense to 6 months. Mert Hakan Yandaş, whose sentence was reduced, shared a post on his social media account, writing, 'I have to succeed because there is someone watching from heaven.'

The Arbitration Committee of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) reduced the 12-month deprivation of rights penalty given to Fenerbahçe player Mert Hakan Yandaş due to a betting offense to 6 months.

STATEMENT FROM TFF FOR MERT HAKAN

The decision taken at the Arbitration Committee's meeting numbered (45) dated July 31, 2026, published on TFF's official website, is as follows:

"The appeal of footballer Mert Hakan Yandaş against the PFDK's decision dated 30.04.2026 and numbered E.2025-2026/4550 - K.2025-2026/5067 was examined. As a result of the deliberations; it was unanimously decided to overturn the PFDK decision to penalize footballer Mert Hakan Yandaş with a 12-month deprivation of rights penalty under Article 57/2 of the FDT due to his betting offense, and it was decided by a majority of votes to penalize footballer Mert Hakan Yandaş with a discretionary 6-month deprivation of rights penalty under Article 57/2 of the FDT due to his betting offense."
